History
Founded as a bi-weekly Shabbat morning minyan in 1997, Netivot Shalom has blossomed. The synagogue currently numbers over eighty-five families and is growing. The synagogue sponsors classes, guest speakers, shabbatonim and social events that have fostered a close-knit community among its membership. Netivot Shalom actively participates in local community events both within the Jewish community and the township of Teaneck in general.
Member Participation
The synagogue seeks broad participation by its membership in all of its services, programs and events to the extent permitted by Halakha. Members are invited not only to lead services but to deliver divrei Torah and teach classes. Netivot Shalom is particularly sensitive to encouraging female participation within parameters defined by Halakha. Netivot Shalom also holds a regular women’s Torah reading on Shabbat and a women’s megilla reading on Purim.
